Skullders are found in tombs and ancient burial caves were mages of old have been entombed or a powerful lich resides. The magic of the area bleeds into these spiders and allowes them to merge with the skulls found throughout the tomb as a means of protection almost like a hermit crab's shell. When the skulls merge with the spiders, the magic makes both much more durable and makes them resistant to physical attacks.
When the skull was from a deceased mage, the eyes of the Skullder will glow with blue or red inner light and allow the Skullder to fire bolts of energy or flame from the eyes of the skull to help it hunt or defend itself.
